New for 2016

Getting fitter this year? Setting goals? Or just having fun and keeping on top of things? We're working hard here to list all the ways you can do it so browse through and find out what you want to do this year.

Go it alone or with a friend - find the best way for you. Everyone's different but there is so much choice in the Five Valleys. A personal trainer can work well for many people and most of them will work out with you at home or in a local park, as well as at a gym. See if you can get together with some friends and get a tailor made routine from a personal trainer.

Classes can be a lot of fun and are aimed at many different levels of interest from absolute beginner through intermediate to highly experienced.

Training for a sport in a club environment helps everyone progress well and learn new skills as experienced members support starters.

You can work out at home using exercise bikes, rowing machines or simpler equipment. Take a walk with a friend or two and explore our wonderful countryside, walk along the rivers or canals or up on the commons. You can join forces with others to share an allotment plot and benefit from fresh vegetables, too. Or if you are available during the day you can join a local conservation group to help out in the fresh air.

Therapeutic Massage and Craniosacral Therapy

Massage can help ease aching muscles so they can heal more quickly and you can be more flexible. Jess Bale runs clinics in Stroud and Nailsworth and enjoys working with people at all levels of fitness to stay healthy. See more information about massage and craniosacral therapy at her website.
